Hi, I am James
LLMSW
Hi, I’m James, a therapist with a Master’s in Social Work from Wayne State University. I bring an empathetic, relaxed, and consistent presence to each session. My passion lies in supporting individuals through life’s challenges—whether it’s anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship struggles, or major transitions. I blend Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Schema Therapy, and mindfulness practices to help clients build lasting change. I’m also a big believer in the healing power of nature, connection, and creativity (and I’ve got a solid vinyl and sneaker collection to prove it!).

Let's Work Together
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Wayne State University in April 2020, and since then, I’ve been committed to walking alongside others as they navigate life’s challenges. My early experience as a residential therapist at Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Center helped shape my passion for working with individuals facing substance use, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and major life transitions.
My approach to therapy is empathetic, relaxed, and consistent. I focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship where clients feel seen, heard, and supported. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Schema Therapy, and mindfulness-based practices to help my clients understand unhelpful patterns, build resilience, and move toward lasting change.
I typically work with clients ages 10 and up, and what I love most about this work is building genuine connections over time—developing trust, exploring goals, and watching my clients grow into more confident and empowered versions of themselves. Seeing someone overcome obstacles and create meaningful change in their life is incredibly fulfilling.
Outside of therapy, I try to live with the same intention and presence I bring to my sessions. I value mindfulness, empathy, and staying grounded in the things I love—whether that’s hiking in nature, collecting sneakers and vinyl records, or spending time with the people who matter most to me.
Therapy isn’t just about addressing what’s not working—it’s also about discovering what’s possible. I’m here to support you with wherever you’re starting from, and to help you take the next steps toward a life that feels more aligned and fulfilling.
