How do I join my telehealth session?

New Horizons Counseling Center offers telehealth (virtual) counseling and therapy sessions for clients throughout the state of Michigan.

• Telehealth sessions are conducted through our secure client portal online.

• You will get access to the client portal once you Get Started and schedule your first appointment. You can also call/text us to set up for your first appointment (586) 716-7600.

• You can access your Client Portal on your computer or your phone.

• All virtual telehealth sessions can be made on your computer or your phone.

• All you need is a reliable internet connection and a phone/computer to log into your telehealth appointments.

• All of our providers offer telehealth options.

Accessing Your Telehealth Session:

• Log in to your client portal. If you forgot your password, you can select "forgot password" or please contact the office at 586-716-7600 (we are text-friendly as well) or your therapist.

• Go to "Billing" at the top of the page if you are using a computer.If you are using your phone, you will see 3 horizontal lines. Tap the 3 lines to drop down a menu, then select Billing.

• Select "Make a Payment” to pay your copay.

• 5 minutes before your session, select Appointments at the top of your portal if using a computer. If using your phone, select the drop-down menu in the top right, then select Appointments.

• Find the appointment time for your TeleHealth Session and select “Join Session.”

• Please make sure you allow the site to use your camera and microphone, then select "Join session."

• You will be placed in a ' waiting room,' and it will alert your therapist that you are there. The therapist will join and the session will begin.

*** If there is a problem with accessing the TeleTherapy Appointment on either side, the therapist will reach out to you to verify what the issue may be. If you are having an issue with the site, please don’t hesitate to contact us. If needed, a new platform link (e.g., Google Meet) will be sent.
